The Festival

As Kelowna’s premier sport weekend, the Kelowna Dragon Boat Festival draws over 160 dragon boat teams, 4500+ competitors, thousands of spectators and an abundance of excitement and cultural experiences.

The Kelowna Dragon Boat Festival is geared towards creating an unforgettable experience. The already exciting dragon boat competition illustrates comradery, teamwork and inspiration. The festival begins with a bang…a concert for all to enjoy, and that’s only Friday. The following days, while the exciting dragon boat races take charge, more live entertainment and spectacular performers, lively beer gardens, delicious food vendors and numerous family activities come alive.

Stemmed by a 2000-year-old Chinese legend, Dragon Boat Racing is still very active and remains a tradition to this day.
